Blockchain’s Roadshow will be through the country starting this week

Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon is the first institution to receive the roadshow promoted by the Portuguese Blockchain Alliance, which follows the next day to the Faculty of Economics of the University of Porto.

The Portuguese Blockchain Alliance announces that the academic roadshow to promote Blockchain technology begins this week. The first workshop will take place at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon this Thursday, May 3, and the city of Porto will receive another session this Friday, May 4th at the Faculty of Economics.

This academic roadshow aims to show students in higher education new ways to work with Blockchain, its benefits and how they can develop solutions in this technology in order to increase the competitiveness of their ideas.

In these sessions students will be explained what it is, how it works and what can be done in Blockchain, what Blockchain Challenges are promoted by the Portuguese Blockchain Alliance, how they can participate in this Challenges and answer the various questions posed by the students present.

This academic roadshow will start this Thursday, May 3, at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon, followed by the session of the Faculty of Economics of the University of Porto this Friday, May 4, and will have several sessions the following week at Nova SBE, Porto Business School, at the School of Economics and Management of the University of Minho and at the end of May at ISEG - Instituto Superior de Economia e Gestão.

"This is a great opportunity for students to get to know more about what Blockchain is and to be able to meet the challenges launched by important Portuguese companies, thus establishing an important link between the business world and the academy," says Rui Serapicos , Ambassador of the Portuguese Alliance of Blockchain. "We know that Blockchain is already part of some university programs in Portugal and in this way we bring the knowledge and experience of the Alliance partners to the students, improving students' knowledge in this matter and developing new tools for employability and new business development opportunities ".

Blockchain Challenges are creative and technology-based challenges driven by cross-industry, multi-sectored, targeted lenders that seek to address one or more needs identified in these industries and which Blockchain can help solve. The current challenges are Abreu Advogados Smart Contract Challenge, BCSD Sustainability Challenge, EMEL Mobility Challenge, Fidelity Insurance Challenge, REN Energy Challenge and Open Innovation Challenge. New challenges will be launched very soon.
