WORKING GROUP ON REGULATION AND LEGISLATION IN BLOCKCHAIN STARTS ACTIVITIES IN APRIL

ALL2BC and Portuguese Law Firms come together to write a white paper on the legal aspects of the Blockchain paradigm.


 

The first meeting of the Legal Advisory Board - LAB - on Blockchain Regulation and Legislation will be held on April 30th. The project is an initiative of the Portuguese Blockchain Alliance, in partnership with some of the country’s major law firms.

Among the main objectives of the LAB is the delivery of a White Paper to the Government, with concrete proposals for the dissemination of knowledge on the DLTs (Distributed Ledger Technologies) in Portugal, the clarification of the applicable legislative framework and eventual regulation and the positions taken regarding the potential and contributions of Blockchain for economic development in the various areas with the interlocutors of each sector.

The group is led by Jorge Lopes Antunes (Legal & Compliance Director of Manpower Group), with legal advice of Martinho Lucas Pires and technical advice of Rui Serapicos. The group's activities are planned to take place in 3 meetings during the year, culminating in the production of the Book in November 2019.
