To participate in the Portuguese Blockchain Alliance Challenges, you must submit your team’s data in the form below. After this first contact, your team will receive an email from the Alliance in order to continue the process of participation in this initiative and the development of your idea.


We remind you that you have several free Sandboxes available for you to develop your idea. This way you can put your concept in practice.

The Portuguese Blockchain Alliance Challenges targets three participants categories:

  • Universities;
  • Startups;
  • Enterprises.

Any participant must register in groups with at least 2 people and a maximum of 8 people. The groups can be composed by an alliance of several entities but only if those entities belong to the same macro category: Public or Private Sector (Examples: (i) group composed by students of several universities or (ii) two companies with complementary skills).

The Challenges participants should submit the registration through the form below filling all the required fields mentioned:

  • Name of the group;
  • Number of members of the group;
  • Full name of the participants;
  • Age;
  • Email;
  • Occupation and/or company’s position;
  • Company/University name;
  • Selected challenge;
  • Brief explanation about the choice of the challenge choice;
  • If the chosen challenge states that option, please indicate which Sandbox you prefer to work on.

1. Evaluation of the proposed solution. The first phase focuses on analysing the validity of the application and its concept. This evaluation is done by the promoting entities of the Challenges in a spirit of mentoring.

In this stage it must be submitted a single document limited to seven pages. Annexes could be appended to this document which should not surmount the established conditions in the respective Challenge. The content of the document should include at least the following mandatory topics:

  • Solution's executive summary
  • Approach used to respond the selected challenge
  • Solution's development process
  • Final Concept
  • Benefits
  • Annexes

 

2. Mentoring of the solution. After the stage of Evaluation, the application is validated by the promoting entity of the Challenge, which includes a second stage of mentoring. This stage focuses on analysing the demonstration of the solution. In this moment of the Challenge, it must be submitted two documents:

  • One limited to seven pages, with the possibility of appending annexes which can be in unlimited number, but not surmount the established conditions in the respective Challenge. The content of the document should include at least the following mandatory topics
    • Executive Summary
    • Approach used to respond the selected challenge
    • Final Solution
    • Merit and Evolution of the Solution
    • Potential of Applicability
    • Benefits
  • And another one which will be a first version of the presentation document to be used in the selection presentation before the Jury.

 

3. Selection of the finalist solutions. In the end, the participants will do a presentation and demonstration before a selection Jury. The presentation will be limited in time, after which the Jury will have a time limit to an open discussion with the participants. The projects wil be analysed and evaluated by the following standards:

The criteria of analysis of each Challenge must be consulted at each Challenge section of this website as well as their regulations.

The analysis and evaluation of the concept and demonstration is the responsibility of the Selection Judge, which will be composed by entities selected by the promoting entities of the Challenges. The decision of the Selection Judge is definitive and cannot be appealed.
